There are movies which the audiences eagerly await post the announcement of their release. Then there are movie which the audiences eagerly await since the arrival of their first part. 'Carry On Jatta 2' assuredly falls in the latter category. The sequel of the movie was released after six years. Upon watching the movie, the first thought which came to mind was that all this wait was worth it!

In the cinema halls, you won't even come to know when the 149-minute long movie reaches its climax because calculating time amidst a laughter exhibition like Carry On Jatta 2 is the last thing that will come across your mind. All that that the star cast of the movie had promised during its promotions in terms of the movie being an arsenal of hilarity proved to contain a profuse weightage for the movie was an explicit agglomeration of comic punches.

If you are planning to watch the movie (which you must), be mentally and physically prepared because post the movie you might encounter bellyache for the movie will give you aplenty reasons of convulsing with laughter.

Carry On Jatta 2 starts with a korero between the two new characters in Tony (Karamjit Anmol) and Channo (Upasana Singh). The movie swiftly reaches the highest possible note with a quintessential hysterically funny conversation between Mr. Dhillon (Jaswinder Bhalla) and his son, Goldy Dhillon (Binnu Dhillon). It is at this point in time that Jass (Gippy Grewal), their tenant, is also introduced to the audiences.

As is the dream of a plethora of youngsters in Punjab, Jass also aims at settling in Canada. Amongst all the options of visiting the foreign country, marrying an NRI-girl seems to be the simplest for him. Soon, Jass and Honey (Gurpreet Ghuggi) come across Meet (Sonam Bajwa), an NRI-girl. In a bid to impress her, Jass and Honey plan-out a couple of lies and that's that. What appears to be not more than two lies initially soon put them and everyone around them in an entanglement. Watch the movie to see whether Jass will be able to speak the truth and win the trust of all his close ones.

Talking about the acting in the movie, not for a moment does Gippy Grewal lets down Jass' central character. The Desi Rockstar of the Punjabi industry stood tall amongst all the expectations which were bestowed upon him. Sonam Bajwa, a fresh entrant in the franchise, proved yet again as to why she is one of the most sought-after actresses in the Punjabi film industry. Apart from doing brimful justice to her role, she was successful in enticing the audiences with her as pretty as a picture looks.

The trio of Jaswinder Bhalla, Binnu Dhillon and Karamjit Anmol emerged as the overriding factor of the movie. In a maximum to the extent comedy movie, the onus falls down on the actors who will ultimately make you laugh. The characters of Mr. Dhillon, Goldy Dhillon and Tony are likely to be approved of with sky-scraping eulogise. In the first part, the comic chemistry between Bhalla and Dhillon was what people spoke highly of. In the sequel, the same chemistry is shared between this threesome which makes the movie all the more whimsical. Anmol deserves a special mention for the manner in which he has donned a different accent altogether.

In Gurpreet Ghuggi, B.N. Sharma (Billu Bansal) and Upasana Singh, three experienced campaigners of the Punjabi industry once again delivered a commendable performance. With all the experience that this triad possesses, it left no stone unturned in entertaining us. Jyotii Sethi (Daljeet), who made her debut in the mainstream Punjabi cinema with the movie, impressed one and all during the limited time that she appeared on screen. This review would be incomplete without mentioning Harby Sangha's (Hakeem Mangal Das) special appearance. He might have done a solitary scene in the movie, but it was unequivocally one of the most amusing ones.

Director Smeep Kang has now made a habit of delivering commercially and critically affluent comedy Punjabi movies. The way in which he initiates a confusion, takes it to the extent of it being a bane of each character's life and bring life back to normalcy is more than what mere words would ever be able to explain. The modus operandi in which he inserted a novelty factor in Carry On Jatta 2 despite sticking to the nuances of the prequel which the audiences liked speaks highly of him. Directing sequels is easier said than done and having directed a rollicking sequel like this lays enough prominence on his standard as a director.

If there was a point in the movie which appeared forced and something which the director could have improved upon was the pace with which Jass and Meet fell for each other. Had more significance been given to their romance, the better it would have for the movie.

The duo of Vaibhav Suman and Shreya Srivastava penned down the story and screenplay of the movie. The plot emphasised on how tinkering with the focal point of the movie can bring its dynamics to a different level in all respects. The silent warrior behind the success of the movie is its dialogue writer, Naresh Kathooria. He has performed a stupendous job because writing a superfluity of comic punches in a technique that jokes don't appear flat on the screen is no mean task. A chink in the armour in Kathooria's writing was a joke on rape between Jass, Mr. Dhillon and Goldy, something which was simply uncalled for. For a movie which had a profusion of witty dialogues, Kathooria could have done much better than writing a casual joke on rape.

It was declared even before the release of the Carry On Jatta 2 that its songs will impel you to bust a grove. The songs of the movie have been directed by Jay K (Jassi Katyal), Sukh E Muzical Doctorz, Gurmeet Singh. Written by Happy Raikoti and sung by Gippy Grewal and Mannat Noor, 'Bhanga Pa Laiye' was the pick of the songs.

Watch Carry On Jatta 2 to spend two hours and 29 minutes of your life in a state of merriment. A sure-shot thing about the movie is that the riotous jokes of the movie will ceaselessly provoke you to laugh your heart out.
