Review: Highway 5 is a very different film from what we are used to watching in Punjabi Cinema. This film is actually different. And this film is so different that I couldn’t understand at first place about why this film was ever made. The film goes on pointlessly and is aptly named ‘Highway 5’ not because it’s a road movie or anything but because it is actually moving in pointlessly for 2 hours.

With some lazy background score which tried its best to put me off to sleep but thankfully I had a good nights sleep and it lost in the end. The songs in the film were as vulgar as they could get. The lowest moment in the film came when one of the characters goes to a strip club and gets a lap dance from a dancer. For people living in the west, strip clubs are not a big deal but for people in India it still is a hoax and a threat to the culture and society.

The performances were nothing much to talk about because none of the crew has ever been seen in a feature film before except for Aman Dhaliwal. Coming to the director Kavi Raz, he might have used a crew from Hollywood but it’s all in vain. The good thing of the film was that it was shot well. The cinematography was apt and was something which I thought would help me cover some part of my money’s worth.

Highway 5 is something which anyways nobody would watch and in the show where I saw the film, I can proudly say that I was the only one who saw it there!
