Review: Director Amit Prasher is back. Yes he’s back after 18 months with a comedy (his fav. genre) involving 3 friends who are deaf, blind and dumb. First things first, Writer and Director have used this aspect in the film to a very good effect. Some of the scenes became naturally funny when these traits came into function.
Writing department has been helmed by Naresh Kathooria. He’s an old gun now in Punjabi Cinema. Knows his job well and he’s done a good job. Story was kept simple and it was the screenplay which was kept smooth. I wish the film could have been a bit longer than what has been made – 106 minutes. Dialogues were pretty good as well. Some of them are pretty fresh in my mind still. The only thing I wanted to know in the story is the past of the 3 heroes like were they born like that or something happened to them.
Amit Prasher as a director has really matured with this film. I mean TM22MT22 was a decent film for a debutante. I’ll not even talk about Ishq Brandy but MKD is probably his best film out of the 3. He knows his job well and has done that pretty well. Right from the start like choosing a descent script, choice of actors, locations and all. It’s all descent. Personal I liked the animated opening credits. We don’t get to see a lot of that in Punjabi films.
Coming to the performances, Binnu Dhillon stole the show. Well that’s nothing new but yes he was the best out of the pack. Following was Amrinder Gill who is maturing with each passing film. Yuvraj Hans was descent as well. Among the actresses Mandy Takhar was the best out of the 3. Anyways actresses did not have much to do in the plot. Sufi Gulati and Prabhjeet Kaur tried level best but the plot did not have anything to offer for them.
Jaswinder Bhalla was at his usual best. Again watching him and Binnu together was a pleasure to watch. Karamjit Anmol did not have a meaty role and so did BN Sharma and Avtar Gill.
Overall, Munde Kamaal De is a descent film to watch out this weekend. It’s a clean film and can be enjoyed with family.
