Synopsis: Love Story of Singh V/S Kaur follows the story of a boy Nihal Singh played by Gippy who is the most notorious boy of the village and the whole village is against him. Circumstances force Nihal to go to Canada and there he falls in love with Jasneet Kaur (Surveen Chawla) who is the richest girl of Vancouver. He brings her back to Punjab to meet his family in his village and there the story unfolds.

Script Analysis: Dheeraj Rattan, who is best at the job of writing, once again has written the script here. Here the story is all right and references have been taken from various Bollywood films. Screenplay is good in parts. Some of the songs seem to be forcefully inserted.
Speaking of the dialogues, they are a major part of the film. They will play a major role if the film is successful. Amberdeep Singh has written great dialogues for the movie.

Direction and Music: Navaniat Singh, who has made cult, films like Dharti and Mel Karade Rabba has directed his 5th film with this one. He has handled the difficult portions of the film well with ease, which is the basic part of being a good filmmaker. Also he has chosen appropriate characters for appropriate roles.
Music by Jatinder Shah is not up to the mark. Punjabi Films have owed their major part of the success to its music, but here it will be comedy and acting. But still songs like Mr. Singha, Massi and Dunali are hummable and enjoyable but only with the video.

Star Performances: Speaking about performances, Gippy Grewal has tremendously shown some improvements in his acting skills. He has good comic timing and was equally impressive in the action sequences. Also, he acts best when he acts as a drunken person. Surveen Chawla got some good screen presence in this film and has acted all right, but frankly speaking she wasn’t presented as the richest girl of Vancouver as her character was written.
Once again I would call Binnu Dhillon as the show-stealer. Such is the comic timing of that man; you just cannot do anything but laugh. B.N. Sharma was also good in a small role. It was great to see Japji Khaira in a film after a long time. Others like Avtar Gill and Rana Jung Bahadur were all right in small roles.
Surprises were in the form of singers Jelly and Babbal Rai making their acting debuts. Rohit Khurana was impressive in a small role.

Final Say: Singh V/S Kaur does not justify its title but the love story is all right. But it is an entertainer where you have songs, dance, entertainment, power packed dialogues and full power South Indian style action.
