Yaar Pardesi is a story with comedy, romance, emotions and thrill. It begins with two girls one NRI Punjabi girl (Vandana Singh) and other Canadian girl (Claudia Ciesla) arriving at the airport. Story unfolds as they reach India, things keep happening one after the other.

Director Gunbir Singh Grewal, who is also the storywriter of this film, has done a descent job as a director in this film. Many crisp situations have been handled well and with ease. What lets him down is the story of the film. The story is an average fair has some hiccups.. It may impress only a limited audience but many will reject it too. Grewal had earlier directed Mannat featuring Jimmy Sheirgill and Kulraj Randhawa. The film was released in 2006 and was a Hit.

German Model Claudia Ciesla looks sizzling on screen. Her chemistry with Gurpreet Ghuggi in the movie is amazing. Making his debut in the Punjabi Film Industry Rj Dhanveer impressive in his first project. Navdeep Kaler supports Dhanveer well. BN Sharma and Binnu Dhillon tickle you to laugh on various occasions. They have yet again done a good job after many successful stints in films like Mirza, Carry On Jatta and Jihne Mera Dil Lutiya.

The music, which has done the trick in, the success of many Punajbi films doesn’t add much here. It was composed by Surinder Bachan, NG and Gurpreet Pandhre and was an average fair. The official Music release wasn’t made for this film. CD’s weren’t released in the markets, they only way to check the music was YouTube. Dissapointing!

 

Overall, Yaar Pardesi is an average fair and may cater only to a limited audience. Watch this film for the good performances by Ghuggi, Dhillon and Sharma and impressive debutants like Dhanveer.
