June 14 will be the first instance of June and the seventh of this year when two (or more than two) Punjabi movies will release on the same day. Citing the same, here is looking forward to another enthralling Friday for the Punjabi film industry.

The first movie to hit the silver screen will be Mandeep Singh Chahal’s ‘Munda Faridkotia’. The trailer of the movie was released nearly six weeks ago on the official YouTube channel of Yellow Music. At the time of writing this article, it has received in vicinity of three million views on the same platform.

Munda Faridkotia will see singer-turned-actor Roshan Prince, Navpreet Banga and debutant Sharan Kaur play the lead roles. Apart from the trio, the movie stars Mukul Dev, Karamjit Anmol, BN Sharma, Hobby Dhaliwal, Gurmeet Saajan, Sumit Gulati, Rupinder Rupi, Jatinder Kaur, Sunny Gill, Poonam Sood, Amrit Aulakh, Ekta BP Singh, Deep Sehgal, Rose Kaur, Deepali Monga, Ravinder Mand, Lucky Dhaliwal, Inder Bajwa, Vandana Chandel, Amritjit Sran, Balli Baljit, Jassi, Pooja Gupta, Jessica Kaur, Surabhi, Priya, Pargat Samrao, Amrik Teja, AK Singh Maghanian, Harpinder Peori, Dhanna Amli, Goni Saggoo, Nagender Gakhar, Anju Kapoor, Daler Singh and Kamal Boparai.

The across-the-border love story will see Prince get caught between Faridkot of India and Pakistan. It is the same reason which will become the bone of contention in the movie.

With the male actor expected to fall for girls in both the cities, it calls for an exciting love triangle. How well Anjali Khurana’s script and Chahal’s direction portray the same on the silver screen will be known after watching the movie in cinema halls tomorrow.

Munda Faridkotia has been produced by Daljit Singh Thind and Monty Sikka under the banner of Dalmora Films Pvt. Ltd. The movie will face intense competition at the box-office from Darshan Bagga’s ‘Jind Jaan‘. While no major Hindi movie is scheduled to release tomorrow, Ali Abbas Zafar’s ‘Bharat’ will also affect the business of the Punjabi movies.
