Written by Lally Gill, ‘47 to 84’ is a realistic movie that will be being shot in Punjab, Chandigarh, New Delhi and the nearby areas. This movie is going to be a refreshing take on the journey of a child through the shocking times of Indo-Pak partition and then when her life was heading to normalcy, the 84 riots happened.This is a story of a nine-year-old girl. She gets to witness the partition at this tender age and then later 1984 riots.

Being shot at a limited budget, the movie is sure to create a lot of buzz. The starcast will have all new faces so that the characters have no resemblance to anyone and lend a realistic feel. Coming from the stable of Shemaroo that has to its credit some blockbuster movies, the music is also being given by one of the Punjabi industry maestros.
