Six days after Punjabi singer Rajvir Jawanda was critically injured in a road accident near Pinjore, his condition remains unchanged. Admitted to Fortis Hospital, Mohali, the 35-year-old artist is still on ventilator support, with doctors reporting no significant neurological improvement since his admission.
According to hospital sources, Rajvir is being continuously monitored by specialists from the critical care and neurology departments. Despite best efforts, there has been no positive development in his condition. Five separate health bulletins have been issued since his hospitalization — all pointing to the same dire status.
The singer has not regained consciousness or responded to any external stimuli. Medical experts say he remains dependent on machines for basic life functions and is under round-the-clock observation.
Rajvir sustained serious head and spine injuries after a high-speed motorcycle crash earlier this week. He was initially taken to a civil hospital and later shifted to Fortis due to the severity of his condition. A cardiac arrest suffered during his transfer further complicated the situation.
Back home, prayers continue across Punjab. Fans have been holding vigils, while special Ardaas ceremonies are being held in gurdwaras for his recovery. Many in the Punjabi music and film fraternity have visited the hospital, including senior politicians and fellow artists.
One close family associate stated, “His family is shattered. There’s hope, but the silence from the doctors speaks volumes. Everyone is just praying now.”
As days pass without improvement, concern for Rajvir’s survival grows deeper. The medical team has not ruled out long-term complications and is expected to make further evaluations in the coming days.
For now, the music world waits, hopeful that the voice which once touched millions will sing again.
