Taking note of continuous non appearance despite issuing bailable warrants, a Moonak court has issued non bailable warrants against Bollywood hero Jimmy Shergill and cast and crew of Punjabi film ‘Taur Mittran Di’.

He had prayed to take action against the erring actors u/s 499, 500 and 120B of the IPC for defaming the legal profession.
The court of sub divisional judicial magistrate(SDJM) Harsimranjit Singh on Tuesday while issuing non bailable warrants against 12 people for intentionally avoiding and appearing in the court mentioned in its order that “bailable warrants of Surveen Chawla, Amarinder Gill received back with the report that house was found locked and found they are not residing at the given address for quite long time. Bailable warrants of remaining have not received back”. The court has also mentioned that “the news item regarding issuance of bailable warrants on April 9, 2013 was published in the Times of India and other English daily. In these circumstances, it transpires that accused are intentionally avoiding their service and let the accused be summoned through non-bailable warrant of arrest for 7.7.13”.
The counsel for complainant Harinder Singh Lali said “the lawyer fraternity was pained to see advocates being projected as laughing stock in the film”. He said earlier the court had issued bailable warrant after the expiry of 30 day mandatory period issued on January 28.
