Off-Roading Event at Forest Hill Resort (FHR) Attracts Motor Sports Enthusiasts
FHR, a Nature retreat-cum-adventure destination showcases Chandigarh region’s potential for adventure tourism
The event showcased the growing potential of the Chandigarh region as a destination for off-roading, outdoor recreation and adventure tourism, offering experiences that combine the thrill of adventure with the tranquillity of nature.
Speaking on the occasion, Devinder Sandhu, Founder, Forest Hill Resort, said that FHR was designed to offer visitors much more than a conventional resort experience. “Forest Hill is a nature retreat as well as an adventure destination where guests can experience the outdoors through activities such as off-roading, trekking, horse riding, boating, fishing and bird watching. Experiences such as Mowgli Walk, nature walks and camping further allow visitors to connect with the natural surroundings,” he said.
The off-roaders navigated rough terrain, natural obstacles and specially created challenging trails, making for an action-packed experience away from the bustle of city life. Sandhu said such events also helped bring people closer to outdoor activities and nature while promoting a culture of adventure and responsible recreation.
“At FHR, trained experts from professional organisations are engaged to conduct adventure activities in a safe and organised manner. Participants are provided the necessary guidance and safety equipment. Children and youngsters above 15 can participate in adventure activities, while separate safe entertainment options are available for younger children,” Sandhu said.
He added that the resort was working towards establishing FHR as a holistic eco-sanctuary where visitors could choose from a range of experiences based on their interests. “The idea is to bring adventure, nature and leisure together at one destination, allowing people to take a break from their routine without having to travel far from Chandigarh,” he said.
Sandhu said destinations such as FHR could also contribute to giving tourism in Chandigarh and the surrounding region a wider push. “When quality nature and adventure destinations develop around Chandigarh, they can encourage longer visitor stays, attract tourists looking for experiential travel and create demand for allied services such as transport, hospitality, food, local experiences and other tourism-related activities. This can have a cascading effect on the regional economy and create employment opportunities at the local level,” he said.
With its proximity to Chandigarh and its combination of nature, adventure and leisure experiences, FHR aims to contribute to the development of the region as an emerging destination for experiential and adventure tourism.
