Omjee Group’s summer of gold: The illustrious banner has achieved success at will in this summer season in the Punjabi film industry.

Prominent distribution and production firm Omjee group has had a stellar summer of 2019. While the Munish Sahni-led Omjee Group associates with a majority of Punjabi movies, there have been three specific movies which have went to become individual blockbusters.

The fact that these three movies released in a span of five weeks further highlight Omjee Group’s summer of gold. The three movies include ‘Shadaa’ (June 21), ‘Ardaas Karaan’ (July 19) and ‘Chal Mera Putt’ (July 26).

Other than Omjee working with illustrious production houses such as White Hill Studios, Humble Motion Pictures and Rhythm Boyz Entertainment, Omjee has also worked with three leading actors of the Punjabi industry in Diljit Dosanjh, Gippy Grewal and Amrinder Gill.

It is worth mentioning that Omjee Group has worked under a new entity named as Omjee Star Studios in these three movies. While they distributed Shadaa in India, they distributed Ardaas Karaan across the globe. Other than distributing Chal Mera Putt in India, Omjee Star Studios has also produced the movie alongside Rhythm Boyz.

Shadaa has went on to become the second-highest grosser Punjabi film, earning in excess of INR 50 crore. On the other hand, both Ardaas Karaan and Chal Mera Putt have been out and out blockbusters in especially in overseas sectors.

Although they should have done better in India, them changes the rules in overseas markers is an achievement nonetheless. Here is congratulating Omjee Group for their outright success this summer and hope for them to keep raising the bar in the Punjabi film industry in the years to come.
