Frankly speaking, there is no better feeling for cinephiles than a tent-pole movie releasing on a festive weekend. With 'Paani Ch Madhaani' releasing tomorrow (November 5) in cinema halls across the world, expect fans to mark their presence in their nearby cinemas both in Punjab and abroad.
Initially announced in June last year, Paani Ch Madhaani has had its share of delays (like many other movies) due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, since the release of the trailer on the official YouTube channel of Humble Music three weeks ago, the movie has been successful enough to create an affirmative buzz in its favour ahead of its release. At the time of writing this article, Paani Ch Madhaani's trailer has received in excess of 20 million views on YouTube.
Director Vijay Kumar Arora, who had last directed 'Guddiyan Patole' (2019), has directed his fourth Punjabi movie in the form of Paani Ch Madhaani. The script, screenplay and dialogues of the movie have been written by another tried and tested name in Naresh Kathooria.
In addition to the superstar pair of Gippy Grewal and Neeru Bajwa, Paani Ch Madhaani stars a stellar cast comprising of Gurpreet Ghuggi, Karamjit Anmol, Iftikhar Thakur, Harby Sangha, Rupinder Rupi, Shivam Sharma, Honey Mattu and Parveen Aawara.

A period musical, it is evident from the trailer that Paani Ch Madhaani is based on the individual and collective journeys of all artists of a musical band led by Grewal and Bajwa.
Shot in both Punjab and the UK, it is the first time when a periodical Punjabi movie has been shot outside of India. Throwing more light on the same in a promotional interview with Punjabi Mania, Grewal had claimed Paani Ch Madhaani to be the best-ever Punjabi movie visually. In the same inteview, Grewal credited producers Sunny Raj, Dr. Prabhjot S. Sidhu and Mani Dhaliwal for backing the movie in the way that they did.
On paper, Paani Ch Madhaani is set to receive stiff competition from Rohit Shetty's 'Sooryavanshi' in the cinema halls. That being said, considering the names involved with the Punjabi movie, it is expected to do exceedingly well especially in Punjab.
