New Delhi witnessed a star-studded evening as Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the grand wedding reception of Olympic gold medallist Neeraj Chopra and his wife Himani Mor Chopra at The Leela Palace. The event drew top athletes, political leaders, and well-wishers from across the country.
A memorable moment of the evening was when PM Modi met the newlyweds and gifted Neeraj Chopra a beautifully crafted idol of Lord Ram. The gesture, symbolizing strength, discipline, and divine blessings, added a personal touch to the celebrations.
The Prime Minister spent time interacting with Neeraj and his family, exchanging smiles and extending his best wishes. Photographs from the reception quickly made rounds on social media, capturing the warmth and joy of the gathering.
Neeraj Chopra, India’s first Olympic gold medallist in athletics, had announced his marriage to Himani Mor earlier this year via a private Instagram post. The couple expressed their gratitude for the support and blessings from fans and well-wishers that have accompanied them through their journey.
Himani Mor Chopra, a talented tennis player from Sonipat, boasts an impressive sporting background. She studied at Miranda House, Delhi, earned a Master’s in Sports Management from Franklin Pierce University in the US, represented India at the 2017 World University Games, and clinched gold at the 2016 World Junior Tennis Championship.
The evening celebrated not only the union of two accomplished athletes but also reflected the admiration and respect they command across the nation.
