For the first time ever a Punjabi film’s theatrical trailer and first look posters were launched exclusively for media here in Chandigarh. The select media gathering got a sneak peak into the youthful bromance comedy Mundeyan Ton Bachke Rahin’s theatrical trailer, a preview of their sangeet song, a love song and also saw the unveiling of the film’s first official posters by its lead actors Roshan Prince, Jassi Gill and Simran Kaur Mundi.
An Aum Moviez presentation and Gill Pictures Entertainment production, the movie boasts of a lively star cast including Roshan Prince, Simran Kaur Mundi, Jassi Gill, Bharti Singh, Preeto Sawhney and Minto. Mundeyan Ton Bachke Rahin is the first Bromcom (bromance comedy) to come out in Punjabi cinema and is slated to release on May 30.
Pawan Gill, Aman Gill and Arun Mehra have produced the film, Navinder Kirpal Singh has directed it “Mundeyan Ton Bachke Rahin is the first brom-com to come out in Punjabi cinema, it’s a young youthful film that reflects the personalities and attitudes of Punjabi youth today,” said Pawan Gill who also wrote the story and screenplay of the film. The film was shot in Punjab, Chandigarh and Nalagarh, Himmachal Pradesh.
Speaking at the event, singer-actor Roshan Prince said that “This film is very young and youthful and it’s one of my most appealing roles to date, something that will connect with the youth instantly. Simran Kaur Mundi added that shooting for movie was like being on a picnic, “It was a fun loving adventure, the whole cast and crew bonded like a family, I’ve never had so much fun while shooting a film.” Jassi Gill said that “The onscreen chemistry between Roshan, Simran and me is amazing in this movie, it’s like we’ve known each other forever, the movie has all shades of a youngsters’ life.”
All three actors echoed similar sentiments when asked about what the plot of the film is, it’s about two boys chasing the same girl to win a competition they have but are they chasing the girl or is the girl playing them? This is definitely something new for a Punjabi film where the female character has as much to do as her male counterparts. Simran Kaur Mundi said “In most punjabi films the female is just a prop in the film, except of course for Neeru Bajwa who gets author backed roles, so when i got this role i immediately jumped at it, because it has something for me to chew on.”
Roshan Prince and Jassi Gill both spoke about how in real life they are not boys who girls should beware of and these are just screen characters they are playing, but they both definitely had a great time playing this sweet lovable casonovas, but the reason for them becoming casonavas will be explained in the film and once audiences see that they will understand where their characters are coming from.
