PR Trailer Review: Punjabi Mania present before you the full trailer review of upcoming Punjabi movie titled ‘PR’.
The trailer of upcoming Punjabi movie titled 'PR' released yesterday to a mixed response. The prospect of singer-actor Harbhajan Mann returning to the celluloid after as many as six years had it in it to enthral the audiences.
Another reason why audiences were eagerly waiting for this trailer was the return of ace director Manmohan Singh after an eight-year gap. Between 2003-2008, these two names were part of six movies which have a legacy of their own in the Punjabi film industry.
If writer Baldev Gill's name is also added, this trio has worked together after one-and-a-half-decade. Credited for the rebirth of the Punjabi film industry in this century, the triad joining hands again after these many years is enough a build-up to make fans look forward to PR, or at least its trailer.
PR Trailer Review
First things first - the makers have been successful in exactly recreating what they are best known for. Having said that, their best work had come 15-18 years ago. Ideally, audiences deserve better after all these years.
Keeping the aforementioned unmatched historic significance of the names involved in the Punjabi film industry aside, the question which arises is whether the trailer of PR has lived up to its expectations or not. Well, it's difficult and unfair to pass a verdict so early but a plethora of nostalgic fans will have to be converted into eyeballs in the cinema halls for PR's success.
Overseas sequences, NRIs speaking Punjabi in a foreign accent, Punjab vs Canada debate spanning across culture and job opportunities etc. appear to be an integral part of PR. There is so much resemblance to their previous work that direction and dialogues also seem to be suffering from repetition.
Frankly speaking, I might be all wrong in the hindsight as mediocre trailers have resulted in passable movies in the past as well for it is quite possible to falter in getting the trailer game right. Not just passable, PR might well even be worth-watching. However, it's just that the trailer isn't very promising for a movie releasing in 2022. In all honesty, as a fan of this team, I wish the movie comes out to be much better than its trailer.
Apart from Mann, debutant actor Delbar Arya will be making her debut in PR. The movie will also witness Kanwaljit Singh, Late Sardool Sikander, Amar Noori, Karamjit Anmol, Mannu Sandhu, Kanwaljit Neeru, Gursharan Mann, Gurpreet Grewal, Gurnaam Singh, Seema Kaushal, Bhupinder Barnala and Gaurav Shah in pivotal roles.
You can watch the trailer of PR on the official YouTube channel of HM Records. At the time of writing this article, it has received in excess of a million views on the same platform.
