Governor of Punjab Mr. VP Singh Bhadnore and Irrigation & Power Minister Punjab Rana Gurjit Singh along with the officers of district administration today accorded a rousing welcome to the President of India Mr. Ram Nath Kovind during his maiden visit to the state.

Governor and Rana Gurjit Singh extended a heartiest welcome to the President who was here to attend a function to award President’s standard to two units of Indian Air Force. Both the Governor and Minister along with Divisional Commissioner Mr. Raj Kamal Chaudhary, Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma, Inspector General of Police Mr. Arpit Shukla, Deputy Inspector General of Police Mr. Jaskaran Singh and Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Gurpreet
Singh Bhullar received the President at the airport. They welcomed the President by offering him bouquet of flowers.

Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Birender Singh Dhanoa also welcomed the President to the function.
On the occasion several other officers of the district and Police administration besides the officers/ officials of the Indian Air Force were also present. The Additional Deputy Commissioner, Jalandhar Mr. Jasbir Singh and Superintendent of Police Mr. RS Cheema were also present on the occasion.
