Punjabi artists continue to strengthen their presence on the international music scene, with singers Shubh and Karan Aujla securing nominations for the 2026 TD JUNO Fan Choice Award. The recognition places them in the same category as global chart-toppers Justin Bieber and The Weeknd, underlining the expanding reach of Punjabi music far beyond South Asia.
The Fan Choice Award is unique in that it is driven entirely by audience votes, making fan engagement a decisive factor. Industry observers say the nominations signal not just commercial success, but a loyal and growing global fanbase that has embraced Punjabi music across streaming platforms and live performances worldwide.
Both Shubh and Aujla have built strong international followings in recent years, with their tracks regularly featuring on global playlists and charts. Their inclusion among some of the biggest names in international pop reflects a broader shift in listening trends, where regional sounds are finding mainstream acceptance across borders.
Music experts note that the rising visibility of Punjabi artists on global award platforms highlights how digital access and diaspora audiences are reshaping the industry. As fan voting gets underway, the spotlight remains firmly on how far Punjabi music has travelled — from local roots to worldwide recognition.
