Punjabi singer Khan Saab has shared a deeply emotional post on social media following the death of his parents, expressing his grief in a way that has drawn widespread attention.
In an Instagram video, Khan Saab is seen washing the feet of his mother and father in a vessel and drinking the water, a symbolic gesture reflecting his devotion and respect. Accompanying the video, the singer wrote about the spiritual conflict he felt, acknowledging that the act goes against Islamic tenets, and seeking forgiveness from Allah.
He stated, “I know this is against the tenets of Islam. My mother once called me while I was praying, and I broke my prayer to attend to her. May Allah forgive me. Nothing in this world is greater than my parents.”
Khan Saab emphasized the importance of honoring one’s parents while they are alive, urging his followers to respect them and perform acts of love and care, including washing their feet as a sign of humility and reverence.
Reflecting on his personal experience, he wrote, “In this video, I washed my parents' feet and drank the water. Though it is not permissible in Islam, I have no regrets. My parents were, are, and always will be everything to me.”
The singer recounted a moment of joy when his mother called him while he was praying, prompting him to break his prayer to help her. He described it as an opportunity to live out the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) through service to his parents.
Khan Saab concluded his message with a plea to his audience, particularly those who may not always honor their parents: “Watch this video and remember to respect and care for your parents while you still can.”
The post has garnered significant attention on social media, sparking conversations about filial devotion, religious boundaries, and the universal respect for parents.
