Punjabi singer Mankirt Aulakh has once again come under threat after receiving a disturbing message from an international phone number. According to reports, the threatening text was sent in Punjabi and directly mentioned harming not just the singer but also his family members.
The message, laced with intimidation, read in part: “Get ready, son. Your time has come. Whether it’s your wife or child, it makes no difference to us. Don’t mistake this for a joke, your number has to be dialled.”
Following the incident, Aulakh’s team filed a formal complaint with the police. Officials, however, have so far refrained from commenting in detail on the matter. It is important to note that Aulakh already has police security, granted earlier due to previous threats.
History of Threats and Violence
This is not the first time the singer has faced such danger. In 2022, gangster Davinder Bambiha’s group had threatened Aulakh on Facebook, claiming he narrowly escaped an attempt on his life. The post at the time suggested he was just “10 minutes away” from being killed, which led authorities to tighten his security.
Aulakh’s circle has also been touched by tragedy. His close associate, Youth Akali leader Vicky Middukhera, was gunned down in Mohali in August 2021. The murder investigation led to life sentences for gangsters Ajay alias Sunny alias Lefty, Sajjan alias Bholu, and Anil Bath, along with fines imposed on them.
