Punjabi singer Rana Sahota had a narrow escape after unidentified individuals allegedly chased his vehicle and fired shots in the air near Nawanshahr on Wednesday, sparking concern among fans and locals.
According to the singer, the frightening incident unfolded while he was driving his own car in the area. During the journey, he noticed a suspicious black vehicle trailing him for some distance. As the pursuit continued, the car eventually pulled up alongside his vehicle.
Sahota told media that several young men inside the car gestured for him to pull over, signaling through the window for him to stop. The singer said he immediately sensed that something was not right and decided against halting his car. Instead, he accelerated in an attempt to move away from the situation.
When the suspects realised that Sahota was not going to stop, they allegedly fired shots into the air from their vehicle. The sound of gunfire created panic in the surrounding area, though no injuries were reported.
The assailants quickly fled the scene after the firing. Meanwhile, Sahota managed to escape unharmed, although he described the experience as deeply unsettling.
Local authorities have been informed about the incident and are expected to review available information to identify the individuals involved. The episode has raised fresh concerns about the safety of public figures and the need for swift action against such acts of intimidation. ????
