He is the man behind upcoming Punjabi Movie Yamley Jatt Yamley. He plays the lead, gives direction and also produces his first Punjabi Movie. Yes, we are talking about Savvy Dadwal. He spoke to Punjabi Mania recently.
Q: Savvy, where did you start your journey from?
A: I started my journey some 8 years back, with Yash Chopra’s Veer Zara. Was a fresher then, didn’t had much experience in this field.
Q: What is the plot of the movie?
A: In youth we find two types of life: One College Life and the other marriage life. The movie is based in between both of them i.e. the life after college and before marriage. The movie depicts how Punjabi lads enjoy this life to the core, outings, and vacations. Overall it’s a family movie.
Q: You are the main lead, director and even producer of the movie. How hard was it for you to do this multi tasking?
A: Well it was a good experience. I had a backing of a strong team with me. It was mostly the team work and no individual can do such things alone. I am blessed with such a strong team. Our assistants, writers are all good.
Q: The movie is definitely crucial for you, since you are involved in every aspect of it. What are your hopes and expectations from the movie?
A: Definitely it’s a crucial movie. So far we have got a good response from the industry about the movie. And we hope to keep the momentum going after the release as well.
Q: A straight question; why should people go for your movie?
We started with an aim to deliver a quality movie to Punjabi Film Industry. Though I won’t comment on anyone, but in movies you see some vacuum where the story drops. Here you don’t find anything such. Plus the movie is a complete entertainment. We have Bharti Singh, Gurpreet Ghuggi and Rana Ranbir, who entertain you throughout. Next we are taking services of Mr. Anup Dev for sound, to further ensure the quality of the movie.
Wonder who is Anup Dev?
Anup Dev is a renowned sound mixer. He has done sound mixing for most of Aamir Khan movies. His last project was Ra One.
Q: What are your future projects after Yamley Jatt Yamley?
A: I have 2-3 projects lined up after Yamley Jatt Yamley. First is Rambo Ranjha Romeo. Then is Canada to Bathinda where my assistant will be coming up as the director. And there is one more in which I’ll be taking the complete charge.
