On the occasion of his birthday, actor and film producer Raj Kundra has once again demonstrated his commitment to humanitarian efforts. In a heartfelt gesture, Kundra announced that the box office earnings of his upcoming film Mehar on its second Friday (September 12) will be directed towards Punjab flood relief.
This marks the second major contribution from the producer towards flood recovery initiatives in the state. Earlier, Kundra had already pledged that the entire first-day collection of Mehar would be donated to relief work in Punjab, which has been severely affected by recent floods.
"Birthdays are best celebrated by giving back. The people of Punjab are suffering, and if our film can help in even a small way, it’s worth it," Kundra said in a statement.
Mehar, which is slated to release this week, has generated significant buzz for its portrayal of resilience and rural pride — themes that, ironically, align with the real-life crisis currently unfolding in the region.
Kundra’s decision could influence more celebrities and producers to take active roles in disaster response and social responsibility.
