Being a Punjabi cinema fan and not getting excited for history based period projects, how is it possible, right? Considering it as the reason, the Punjabi movie makers decided to bring a new movie of the same genre. Amar Hundal has taken the responsibility to turn a beautiful story into amazing visuals with the upcoming movie ‘Rajni’. 

Rajni, featuring Roopi Gill in the titular role, has been announced by Mad4Films. Roopi Gill will perform the role of Rajni in the upcoming movie that is based on Punjab’s culture, roots and history. The official poster has also been revealed with the announcement of the lead actress and release date. 

Rajni is all set to release in cinemas on 30th August. This announcement is special because the actress featuring in it was not the initial choice of the makers rather it was Sunanda Sharma who was earlier roped in for the role. Yes, you heard it right. Sunanda Sharma shared the news of her movie in July 2023 and revealed she will be featuring as the lead actress in the movie, Rajni. 

But months passed and no updates were released on the same. Now, due to unknown reasons, Sunanda Sharma has been replaced by Jatt Nuu Chudail Takri fame Roopi Gill. It will be for the first time that Roopi Gill will feature as the lead in a movie that has a female in the lead. 

The movie is based on the life of Bibi Rajni. Let’s see what this movie brings in for the viewers once it releases in cinemas on 30th August.
