Chandigarh: A full week has passed since Punjabi singer Rajvir Jawanda was rushed to Fortis Hospital in Mohali after a severe bike accident, and his condition remains unchanged. According to the sixth medical bulletin released on Thursday evening, Jawanda is still on life support and has not regained consciousness.
The hospital’s neurology and critical care teams continue to monitor him closely. Doctors have confirmed that while his heart is responding to medication, his neurological condition remains critical, and there has been no meaningful recovery so far.
The accident, which occurred near Pinjore, left the singer with major head and spine trauma. Since then, he has been kept in intensive care, and despite the best efforts of the medical team, progress remains slow and uncertain.
Jawanda’s case has garnered widespread public attention. Political leaders including Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, Pratap Singh Bajwa, and Balbir Singh Sidhu visited the hospital to offer support to the family and speak with doctors. Meanwhile, fans have turned to religious gatherings and prayer ceremonies, hoping for a miracle.
His accident has also led to a surge in online activity. In just a few days, Rajvir's Instagram following jumped from 2.4 million to over 2.6 million, as fans flooded his social media with messages of love, music tributes, and emotional notes.
Despite the outpouring of support, the reality remains grim. Doctors have emphasized that he is not in a position to communicate, and his condition is still being classified as “extremely critical.”
As Punjab and the larger Punjabi music community hold their breath, prayers continue for the singer whose voice has touched millions—but now rests silent, waiting for signs of recovery.
