Rajvir Jawanda will play a lead for the first time in the film ‘Jind Jaan’

In this experimental phase of the Punjabi industry, filmmakers are coming up with different and new concepts and trying to experiment with the stories, themes and genres of the films. One more film based on a new and fresh theme, which will release this year is Jind Jaan. The film stars singer turned actor Rajvir Jawanda in the main lead.

Rajvir Jawanda made his way to the Punjabi cinema last year with the multi-starrer ‘Subedar Joginder Singh’. With this upcoming film Jind Jaan, Rajvir will make his debut as a male protagonist as he will play a main lead for the first time in a Punjabi movie. Actress Sara Sharma will play the female lead opposite Rajvir Jawanda in the film. The movie has an illustrious starcast including Jaswinder Bhalla, Upasana Singh and Harby Sangha.

Rajvir will play the character of a boy from a simple family who has a keen interest in music. The story will revolve around this boy who shifts abroad after his studies and gets a job to teach music to a rich and bumptious girl and how they fall in love with each other after loads of drama in between. Upasana Singh will play the role of Sara’s Aunt (bhua) and Jaswinder Bhalla will play the character of Rajvir’s uncle (mama) who accompanies his nephew to the foreign country. The story will have the fun element of Jaswinder Bhalla falling in love with Upasana Singh. Harby Sangha who will play the role of Upasana Singh”s secretary, will also have a significant part in the movie.

Directed by Darshan Bagga, who has given films like Mera Punjab (1994), Rabb Ne Banaiyan Jodiean (2006) and Shikaar (2004), ‘Jind Jaan’ is being produced by Pawan Aggarwal and Dheeraj Bhandari under the banner BRS Films. The story of the film has been written by Mumbai based writer Rajiv Kaul. The film’s music is by Gurmeet Singh. Happy Raikoti has penned down the lyrics of the songs which have been recorded in the melodious voices of Rajvir Jawanda, Mannat Noor, Lakhwinder Wadali and Indrani Sharma.

The shooting of the film is over and it is nearing its release date. The film has been mostly shot in the picturesque locations of Malaysia and Chandigarh. The makers are confident that the movie will be a complete package for the audience, as it will have all the elements- drama, romance, comedy and emotions. The film will be released worldwide by the Omjee Group on 14 June this year and the whole team is very excited for the release.
