BC Cricket Championship 2020: The Punjabi producer has launched a T20 cricket tournament in British Columbia, Canada.

Punjabi producer Rana Ahluwalia has launched a T20 cricket tournament named BC Cricket Championship in British Columbia, Canada. The initiative has, sort of, revived the sport in the region amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

To ensure optimum safety of the players, organizers and all others involved in the smooth conduction of the league, the organizers have claimed to be following all the safety guidelines and necessary protocols.

Five teams namely Vancouver Vibes, Victoria Waves, Kings 11 Kelowna, Surrey Shines and BC Champions are taking part in the tournament. After facing each other once in the league stage, the top four teams will play the semi-finals and the winners will lock horns in the final match.

Having begun on August 7 (Friday) in British Columbia, the final match will be played on August 13 (Thursday).

On the work front in the Punjabi film industry, Ahluwalia had last bankrolled Babbu Maan-starer ‘Banjara – The Truck Driver’ (2018). Pali Bhupinder Singh’s ‘Gurmukh‘, which should be among the many movies to release upon the opening of cinema halls in India, has also been produced by Ahluwalia.
