“What is Rana Ranbir doing in Yarran Da Katchup?,” these are the words which the comedian has used to express his dismay at the makers of Punjabi film Yaaran Da Katchup. In a facebook post dated July 17, Ranbir wrote that when he had heard the story, his character was very different. He was playing a role of detective who casts 9 different characters. On shoot, they shot all those 9 characters and even dubbed for it. But when the film released the roles were reduced to 5 and his onscreen time was less than 4 minutes.

He wrote that the audience after watching the movie wonders why is Rana Ranbir in the movie, what actually is he doing in the movie and whatever he is doing, why is he doing it?

“I played a female character which took 3 hours for me to get ready. We shot that character for four days. Everyone appreciated the director for that. Where is that character? Why was time and money wasted? Yaaran da Katchup sounds to me like the producer and director are saying to me, Rana Shut up, Shut up. But why?” added Rana Ranbir.
