YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia has officially recorded his statement with the Maharashtra Cyber Cell on Monday following the backlash over his controversial remark made during comedian Samay Raina’s YouTube show. The Mumbai Police had summoned him after his "India’s Got Latent" comment sparked widespread criticism and outrage.

Allahbadia’s explicit comment about parents on the show led to public outcry, with the issue even being raised in Parliament, calling for stricter regulations on online content. While he later issued an apology, the controversy continued to gain traction.

In response to the backlash, Samay Raina, who is currently overseas, announced on X (formerly Twitter) that he had deleted all episodes of the India’s Got Latent series from his YouTube channel. This decision came amid increasing pressure from various sections of society.

The matter also reached the Supreme Court, which condemned Allahbadia’s comments, stating that such behavior was unacceptable. While the court granted him protection from arrest, it also imposed restrictions, including the surrender of his passport and a ban on traveling abroad without prior permission.

The case has ignited a larger debate on online content moderation and accountability, with growing calls for stronger regulations to ensure responsible digital discourse.
