0% Liked

Ranveer Singh’s action-packed entertainer Dhurandhar has set a new benchmark in Bollywood box office history. On its 22nd day in theatres, the film surpassed Rs 648 crore in domestic net collections, overtaking Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan (Rs 640 crore) to claim the title of highest-grossing Bollywood film in India.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar continues to dominate ticket windows, starting its fourth week with a Friday collection of over Rs 15 crore. Analysts predict the film could cross Rs 700 crore domestically in the coming days, potentially challenging the Hindi-dubbed version of Pushpa 2: The Rule, which holds the record for the highest all-language collection in India.

Prior to Dhurandhar, the Rs 500-crore club included films like Animal (Rs 553 crore), Gadar 2 (Rs 525 crore), Pathaan (Rs 543 crore), Chhaava (Rs 601 crore), and Stree 2 (Rs 598 crore). Pathaan, starring Shah Rukh Khan, was the first Bollywood film to breach this milestone, while Aamir Khan’s Dangal held the record for several years with Rs 387 crore in domestic collections.

Film Net Domestic Collection
Dhurandhar Rs 648 crore
Jawan Rs 640 crore
Chhaava Rs 601 crore
Stree 2 Rs 598 crore
Animal Rs 553 crore

Pan-India films dubbed in Hindi have also performed exceptionally well. Baahubali 2 earned Rs 511 crore, while Pushpa 2: The Rule set the bar at Rs 812 crore domestically. Across all languages, Pushpa 2 remains India’s highest-grossing film with Rs 1,234 crore, followed by Baahubali 2, which crossed Rs 1,000 crore. The highest-grossing Hollywood release in India remains Avatar: The Way of Water, which collected Rs 391 crore net.

With its continued box office momentum, Dhurandhar has firmly established itself as the new benchmark for domestic Bollywood earnings, solidifying Ranveer Singh’s dominance in the industry.
