Salman Khan turned his attention to the growing misuse of artificial intelligence during the latest episode of Bigg Boss 20 Weekend Ka Vaar, raising concerns over fabricated videos and cloned voices being circulated on social media.
While speaking to the contestants, the actor explained how AI can now be used to manipulate a person's voice or create footage that makes it appear as though they said or did something that never actually happened. Salman also revealed that he himself has been featured in AI-generated fake content.
The actor drew a distinction between people who unknowingly share such material and those who deliberately produce it despite knowing that it is fabricated. He argued that people intentionally creating such misleading videos should face legal consequences and called for stronger measures to tackle the problem.
Salman further suggested that stricter controls on social media would be necessary to prevent the misuse of AI technology. His comments came amid a broader discussion on trolling and the way online platforms have made it easier for manipulated content to reach large audiences.
The AI discussion followed Salman's earlier comments on social media behaviour and the treatment of celebrities. In a previous Weekend Ka Vaar episode, he had spoken about online trolling and criticised photographers for capturing female actors from inappropriate angles.
During the latest episode, actor Fatima Sana Shaikh also acknowledged Salman's decision to speak about such issues publicly. Responding to her comments, Salman said that the paparazzi had taken his earlier remarks in a positive manner.
With AI-generated content becoming increasingly difficult to distinguish from genuine footage, Salman's remarks added another dimension to his ongoing conversations on Bigg Boss 20 about the impact of social media and the responsibilities that come with it.
