Popular stand-up comedian Samay Raina has announced his much-anticipated comeback tour, marking his return to the stage after a turbulent period marked by controversy surrounding his viral YouTube show India's Got Latent. The show had drawn massive attention online, especially from younger audiences, but also sparked legal trouble when a controversial comment by influencer Ranveer Allahbadia led to multiple FIRs being filed.
Breaking his silence, Samay took to Instagram to drop a powerful black-and-white teaser video announcing his international comedy tour, which will take him across Europe, the UK, New Zealand, and Australia.
The tour is set to kick off on June 5 in Cologne (Koln) and wrap up in Sydney on July 20. Along the way, the comedian will perform in a string of cities including Frankfurt, Berlin, Barcelona, Hamburg, Dublin, Zurich, Munich, Antwerp, Paris, Amsterdam, Glasgow, London, Manchester, Auckland, Brisbane, Adelaide, Melbourne, and Perth.
The announcement video features a sarcastic voiceover: “People who buy tickets to listen to all this stuff, they buy tickets and they go to these shows and they sit and listen and they clap for this, whatever this is. I don't know if these are even jokes.”
The line sets the tone for what promises to be a self-aware and sharp-witted set that doesn’t shy away from addressing past controversies.
Samay hinted that parts of the new set will directly tackle the India’s Got Latent fallout. He had remained largely silent during the controversy, avoiding public comment while dealing with legal proceedings. But now, he’s ready to channel that experience into laughter.
Sharing a note alongside the tour announcement, Samay wrote:
“The most testing time of my life makes for the best comedy. See you on the tour.”
With this comeback, Samay Raina is not just returning to comedy — he’s reclaiming the narrative.
