Metrical Punjabi singer-turned-actor, Satinder Sartaj, has come up with his latest track, ‘Masoomiat’. People who follow him ardently must have listened to this song before as well. The 35-year old has sung this song on several occasions during his live performances, including the PTC Punjabi Music Awards in 2016.
The video, which was released on the day before yesterday on the official YouTube channel of T-Series Apna Punjab, has crossed the mark of five millions views on the same platform and was trending on #6 at the time this article was being written.
This is Sartaj’s first appearance in any song after the release of his debut movie, ‘The Black Prince’, earlier this year. Like most of his earlier pieces of research, this song also been penned down by Sartaj, himself. The video is directed by Pankaj Verma and the editing is done by Gurmeet Dhaliwal. Beat Minister has directed the song musically.
In what has been the predominant trajectory of his work throughout his career, Sartaj has released another song which runs through an individual’s vital force. It appears as if his sense of writing and his persona on the screen is best suited for this breed of music. His sedate voice, too, sounds as if it tailor-made to recite words which come out of his conscience, more than his hands.
Perhaps, this is what makes Sartaj a deep thinker and a distinctive performer. In the fast-moving modern contemporary world, where the audience’s taste has also diverted with their swift lifestyles, Sartaj’s songs are still dosed heavily on the sufi front. Seldom has he tried to fit in someone else’s shoes, shoes which might be more trending or even might be more financially stable. For all you know, it is his this firmness of purpose which keeps him and his work moving on the stairs of success.
For the all-round success of this venture, a lot of credit also goes to the director and the editor for they have showcased the wonderful locations of North India with sheer elegance on screen. If you haven’t watched the video as yet, watch it here and tell us your views about Sartaj’s Masoomiat:
