The Shiromani Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC) has demanded immediate ban on ‘Taarak Mehta ka ooltah Chashmah’ where one of the character is seen in guise of Guru Gobind Singh Ji. The character, Roshan Singh Sodhi, was portrayed as Guru Gobind Singh which wasn’t appreciated by the community. SGPC Chief Kirpal Singh Badungar said in a statement issued to the media “The serial has hurt the Sikh community by portraying the living nature of the tenth Guru Gobind Singh ji and this is against” Sikh principles “.
