Shava Ni Girdhari Lal: Gippy Grewal adds to his rendezvous with enormous star casts

Shava Ni Girdhari Lal: The Desi Rockstar is all set to release his third movie as a director on December 17.

December and Punjabi films haven't been on the best of terms since time immemorial. The end of year, which is generally a bankable time for multiple businesses including the entertainment industry, is yet to find its feet with respect to the Punjabi film industry.

While the aforementioned has been happening with Punjabi films due to various reasons, 2021 has a substantial opportunity of turning the tables for as many as three big movies are releasing in the last three weeks of this month.

Punjabi superstar Gippy Grewal, who has earned a reputation of being a trailblazing figure, is yet again likely to lead from the front with his upcoming movie titled 'Shava Ni Girdhari Lal'. Scheduled to release on December 17, the movie will be the first of these three movies which will hit the big screens in the last three Fridays of 2021.

In what will be Grewal's third directorial venture, a common element between most of his previous movies (even in other capacities like actor and producer) and Shava Ni Girdhari Lal is the presence of a stellar starcast.

For starters, Shava Ni Girdhari Lal stars actors (in addition to Grewal) namely Gurpreet Ghuggi, Karamjit Anmol, Rana Ranbir, Neeru Bajwa, Himanshi Khurana, Sara Gurpal, Yami Gautam, Paayal Rajput, Tanu Grewal, Seema Kaushal, Sardar Sohi, Raghveer Boli, Prince Kanwaljit Singh, Akshita Sharma, Raj Dhaliwal, Chandan Gill, Baljinder Kaur, Balwinder Begowal, Ranjit Punia, Harinder Bhullar, Dilraj Udey, Honey Mattu, Aman Kotish, Dilraj Udey, Nisha Bano and Nooran Kaur.

For anyone who has watched the 183-second trailer of the movie, it is quite evident that multiple actresses are starring opposite Grewal itself. Grewal, who has co-written the film with Rana Ranbir, deserves appreciation in the first place for writing such stories time and again.

It is one thing to write such scripts and another (more difficult) to convince leading actors (including Yami Gautam) to agree to do smaller parts. Apart from convincing them, what Grewal also does quite well is to not think about the financial burden which comes with signing so many actors for a movie.

As has been the case with Grewal's previous movies, it is difficult to find empty space in the posters of Shava Ni Girdhari Lal. And as has been the case with Grewal's previous movies especially which are made under his banner, he would be hoping to emulate the same success with Shava Ni Girdhari Lal as well.
