Mumbai: Actor Shehnaaz Gill opened up about an unexpected turn of fate that brought her into the cast of the upcoming Punjabi film ‘Singh Vs Kaur 2’ during the trailer launch of the much-awaited sequel.
Gill, who has been a fan of the original Singh Vs Kaur, said she had expressed her desire to be part of a possible sequel even before she knew that the film was being planned.
Recalling the moment, she said that while working on another project, she spoke to veteran actor Nirmal Rishi and mentioned that she would love to feature in Singh Vs Kaur 2 if the sequel ever happened.
Her wish, she revealed, did not take long to materialise.
Gill said she received a call about the film just a month after that conversation and was invited to hear the story. She described the opportunity as a blessing and recalled the experience with a smile at the trailer event.
The revelation added a personal touch to the launch, highlighting how an offhand wish eventually turned into a major professional opportunity for the actor.
Singh Vs Kaur 2 is the sequel to the popular Punjabi comedy and is expected to continue the franchise's mix of humour, drama and entertainment.
The film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on September 11, 2026, and will mark another prominent appearance by Gill in Punjabi cinema.
With the trailer now unveiled, anticipation is building among fans of the original as well as audiences looking forward to seeing the new cast and storyline on the big screen.
