After six weeks of intense competition, MX Player's reality show ‘Rise & Fall’ Season 2 has crowned its winner, with Shehzad Poonawalla taking home the trophy and ?35 lakh in prize money. He defeated Priyanka Chahar Choudhary, who finished as the first runner-up, while Gautam Gulati secured the second runner-up position.

The victory marks a significant milestone for Shehzad, who made his reality television debut with the show and managed to outlast several contestants to emerge as the ultimate Ruler.

How the grand finale unfolded

The season finale opened with energetic dance performances by all six finalists, setting the stage for the final battle. Host Virender Sehwag then introduced a special task involving gifts, which played a role in determining who would advance further in the competition.

Niharika Tiwari became the first finalist to exit after Swara Bhasker, Shehzad Poonawalla, Gautam Gulati and Karan Patel voted against her.

Comedian Harsh Gujral subsequently brought some entertainment to the tense finale with his humorous appearance. However, the competition soon intensified when the Tower lights turned red for Karan Patel and Swara Bhasker, bringing their journeys to an end due to insufficient votes.

This left Shehzad, Priyanka and Gautam competing for the championship. In the final announcement, Gautam was declared the second runner-up, Priyanka finished second, and Shehzad was crowned the winner of the second season.

Shehzad to donate entire prize money

While the trophy and cash reward marked the culmination of his reality show journey, Shehzad's announcement about the prize money became another major highlight of the finale.

The winner revealed that he intends to donate the entire ?35 lakh amount towards relief and rehabilitation efforts for people affected by floods in Bihar and Assam.

Reflecting on his experience, Shehzad said the journey had tested his patience and determination, particularly while navigating the contrasting experiences of the Tower and the Basement.

He described the victory as the result of perseverance and self-belief, adding that the relationships, challenges and memories created during the competition would remain important to him beyond the show.

Shehzad also expressed gratitude to the show's makers, MX Player by Prime Video and Banijay Asia for providing him with the opportunity to participate in the reality series.

With his victory, Shehzad Poonawalla has concluded his first reality television appearance on a winning note, while his decision to contribute the ?35 lakh reward towards flood relief has added a humanitarian dimension to the season's finale.
