Shilpa Shetty Pays Emotional Tribute to Father on His 85th Birth Anniversary

Actor Shilpa Shetty marked the 85th birth anniversary of her late father with a moving remembrance, sharing personal moments from her family album and reflecting on his lasting presence in her life.

Taking to social media, the actor posted a series of throwback photographs featuring her father at different stages of her life. Among the images was a cherished frame capturing him with her son, Viaan, highlighting a bond that continues to hold special meaning for the family. The tribute concluded with a family photograph showing Shilpa alongside her sister, actor Shamita Shetty, with their father.

Accompanying the pictures, Shilpa penned a warm message, imagining her father celebrating the milestone in his own way. “Cheers to 85, Dad! I hope you are enjoying your single malt up there,” she wrote, adding a personal and affectionate note to the post.

Shilpa and Shamita lost their father in October 2016 after he suffered a cardiac arrest. Since then, both sisters have often spoken about his influence and the values he instilled in them.

Shilpa Shetty married businessman Raj Kundra in November 2009. The couple welcomed their son Viaan in 2012 and later became parents to a daughter, Samisha, in February 2020 through surrogacy.

In recent months, the actor has also found herself in the news due to legal controversy. Shilpa was named in an alleged ?60-crore cheating case, following which she issued a detailed statement denying any wrongdoing. She clarified that her association with the concerned company was limited to a non-executive role and that she had no involvement in its operations or financial decisions.

She further stated that her family had, in fact, extended a loan of nearly ?20 crore to the company, which she claimed remains unpaid. Calling the allegations unfounded, Shilpa described the attempt to link her to criminal liability after several years as legally untenable.

A case was registered in August against Shilpa Shetty, her husband Raj Kundra, and another individual, accusing them of cheating a businessman of over ?60 crore. The matter remains under investigation.
