The family and team of late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala have officially announced a change in the date of his 2026 barsi programme in Punjab’s Mansa district.
The annual tribute, originally planned for May 29, will now be held a day earlier on May 28.
The decision has been taken in view of the MC election vote counting scheduled across Mansa on May 29, when security deployment and public movement are expected to remain exceptionally high.
According to sources close to the family, the revised schedule has been finalised to ensure better management of the massive gathering expected to attend the emotional remembrance event.
Authorities are anticipating tight security arrangements throughout the district on counting day, which could have created logistical challenges for visitors travelling to pay tribute to the late singer.
By advancing the event by one day, organisers aim to ensure smoother traffic flow, easier travel access and improved crowd regulation for the thousands of fans likely to arrive from across Punjab and other states.
Sidhu Moose Wala’s team has also urged supporters to widely share the updated information to avoid confusion and inconvenience among visitors making travel arrangements.
