Sonu Nigam Alerts Fans About Fake Social Media Accounts Misusing His Name

Singer Sonu Nigam has issued a stern warning to fans about fake accounts operating under his name, particularly on X (formerly Twitter), where he clarified he has been inactive for over eight years.

Taking to Instagram, the veteran playback singer urged his followers to remain cautious and to report or block any suspicious profiles claiming to be him.

“If you come across any fake messages or accounts using my name, please report and block them,” Nigam wrote. “Your vigilance is deeply appreciated.”  He also clarified that neither he nor his team has ever reached out to individuals online for any purpose, dismissing any messages from alleged “management” as fake.

“If someone claims to be from my management and randomly contacts you, be alert. It’s not us,” he said. Nigam raised concerns over controversial posts being shared by accounts pretending to be him on X, adding that such impersonation could put his reputation and safety at risk.

“I’ve not been on Twitter/X for the last eight years. These accounts are not mine and often post inflammatory content that could be dangerous,” he added. This isn’t the first time the artist has highlighted the issue. Earlier, Nigam flagged a verified handle named Sonu Nigam Singh, which was misleading the public and allegedly endangering his reputation.

“A single fake post from this person can cause real harm. And yet, despite knowing, the authorities, press, and platforms remain silent. Are they waiting for something tragic to happen?” he had said in a previous post.
