Popular Punjabi singer Sunanda Sharma faced an unexpected and frightening moment during a live performance in Jaipur after a fan suddenly made his way onto the stage. The singer appeared visibly startled by the intrusion and stepped backwards as security personnel rushed in to control the situation.
The incident reportedly took place on October 31, 2026, during a college festival in Jaipur. A short video capturing the moment has since surfaced online, bringing attention to the safety arrangements at live musical events.
Although the situation was brought under control within moments, the incident has once again raised questions about how easily unauthorised individuals can approach performers during crowded concerts.
What Happened During Sunanda Sharma's Jaipur Performance?
Sunanda Sharma was among the performers invited to the inter-collegiate techno-cultural festival 'Ekona-2026', organised at Anand International College of Engineering in Jaipur.
The singer was entertaining the audience at around 8:30 PM when an unexpected incident interrupted her performance. According to the video circulating online, Sunanda moved closer to the audience while singing when a young man suddenly climbed onto the stage.
The individual reportedly approached the singer and attempted to touch her feet. However, his sudden appearance caught Sunanda off guard, prompting her to scream and immediately move away.
Security Team Quickly Removes the Intruder
The security personnel stationed near the stage reacted immediately after noticing the intrusion. They moved between the singer and the individual, restrained him and escorted him away from the performance area.
During the commotion, Sunanda could be heard saying, "It's okay, it's okay," apparently asking the security staff to remain calm. She subsequently moved towards the rear section of the stage.
The brief video has attracted attention because it shows how quickly an otherwise routine concert moment turned into a security concern.
Sunanda has not yet publicly commented on the Jaipur incident.
Not the First Time: Similar Incident During Ghaziabad Concert
The latest episode has brought back memories of another stage intrusion involving Sunanda Sharma earlier in 2026.
In April, the singer was performing at Raj Kumar Goel Institute of Technology (RKGIT) in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, when a college student unexpectedly entered the stage and approached her.
According to reports, the student moved towards Sunanda and attempted to touch her feet. The unexpected encounter left the singer visibly uncomfortable, forcing her to stop her performance and leave the stage.
The situation reportedly affected the remainder of the programme. Despite requests from students to continue, Sunanda chose not to resume the concert.
Ghaziabad police subsequently took action and detained the student involved in the incident.
Repeated Stage Intrusions Raise Questions About Artist Safety
The two incidents, occurring at different college events within a few months, have renewed discussions about security arrangements at live performances.
Artists regularly interact with audiences, move towards the edge of stages and encourage fans to participate in performances. However, such interactions also require effective crowd management and properly trained security teams.
The Jaipur incident ended after security personnel intervened, but the recurrence of similar situations highlights the importance of preventing unauthorised access to performance areas.
For performers like Sunanda Sharma, who frequently appear at live concerts and college festivals, maintaining a safe distance between the stage and the audience is essential.
While fans may approach their favourite celebrities out of excitement or admiration, crossing security barriers can create uncomfortable and potentially dangerous situations.
The Jaipur episode has once again placed the spotlight on concert security, with audiences and music lovers discussing the need for stronger safety arrangements to protect performers during live events.
