Punjabi cinema is gearing up for another major release as the makers of Dastaar officially unveiled the first poster of the much-awaited film starring Tarsem Jassar and Geet Goraya in lead roles. The newly announced project has already created excitement among movie lovers with its powerful visual presentation and intense historical backdrop.

Presented by White Hill Studios in association with Hotshot Productions Limited, Dastaar is directed by Amar Hundal and is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on July 17, 2026.

The first-look poster offers a gripping glimpse into the film’s serious and dramatic tone. Tarsem Jassar appears in a commanding avatar, dressed in a long black overcoat and turban while holding a firearm, hinting at a story rooted in courage, struggle and identity. The dark, smoky backdrop, paired with multiple armed characters, gives the impression of a period action-drama with strong emotional depth.

Geet Goraya joins Tarsem Jassar in what is expected to be one of Punjabi cinema’s most intriguing on-screen pairings. While the makers have kept the storyline tightly under wraps, the title Dastaar itself suggests themes connected to pride, honour and legacy — elements deeply associated with Punjabi and Sikh heritage.

The project also boasts a strong production team with Gunbir Singh Sidhu and Manmord Singh Sidhu backing the film. The screenplay has been penned by a talented writing team including Deepak Kamboj, Manjot Singh, Vikram Khehra, Teddy Jay and Oliver Broscombe, promising a layered cinematic narrative.

Tarsem Jassar, known for choosing meaningful and rooted stories, is expected to bring another impactful performance to the big screen. His previous work has earned appreciation for blending social themes with commercial appeal, and Dastaar appears to continue that tradition on a much grander scale.

The announcement poster has already generated strong buzz across social media, with fans praising the film’s striking visual style and Tarsem’s intense screen presence.

With its bold first impression and intriguing title, Dastaar is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated Punjabi films of 2026, raising expectations for a cinematic experience rich in history, action and emotion.
