JioHotstar is gearing up to expand its reality show lineup with the launch of a new competitive series titled The 50. The show is scheduled to go live on February 1, 2026, and is expected to run for nearly 50 days, promising an extended mix of drama, strategy and entertainment.
An Indian adaptation of an international format developed by Banijay, The 50 will bring together well-known personalities from television, films, and the digital space. The show will focus on a large group of celebrity participants navigating challenges that test not only physical endurance but also social skills, alliances and tactical thinking.
What is The 50 all about?
Explaining the concept, JioCinema executive Alok Jain said the idea revolves around placing 50 celebrity contestants under one roof, where they will compete in a series of engaging and high-stakes tasks. As the competition progresses, contestants will face eliminations, gradually narrowing the field until a single winner emerges after roughly 50 episodes.
The 50 Confirmed Contestants List: Who’s in the race?
While the full lineup is yet to be officially announced, several popular names are being speculated as potential participants. These include Dhanashree Verma, Pratik Sehajpal, Saba Azad, Emiway, Orry, Shweta Tiwari, Ankita Lokhande, Kusha Kapila, Anshula Kapoor, Tanya Mittal, Shiv Thakare, Urfi Javed, Nikki Tamboli, Arbaaz Patel, Sreesanth, Ridhi Dogra, Mallika Sherawat, Vivian Dsena and Jay Bhanushali.
Among these, Karan Patel, Faisal Sheikh—popularly known as Faisu—and Divya Agarwal have been confirmed as contestants so far. More names are expected to be revealed closer to the premiere.
Host and presentation
The show will be hosted by filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan, whose presence is expected to add humour, energy and a distinct style to the proceedings.
Prize format and audience participation
One of the unique aspects of The 50 is audience involvement. Viewers will be able to support their favourite contestants by placing bets on them. If the selected contestant goes on to win the show, participating fans will also earn a share of the prize money.
Where to watch
The 50 will stream on JioHotstar and will also be broadcast on Colors television channel starting February 1, 2026. With a large cast, an interactive format and a long run, the show is expected to be one of the major reality offerings of the year.
