The ‘Filmy Month’ Of The Year- September 2022

The year 2022 has been a rocking year for the Punjabi entertainment industry and the Punjabi cinema lovers. This year the industry regained its momentum after the difficult Covid times. 2022 has been super successful in terms of box office business and collections for the Punjabi movies. Several Punjabi films including Lover, Jind Mahi, Kokka, Chhalla Mud Ke Nahi Aaya and many more released in the cinemas this year and managed to win hearts and gain box office success.

The August entertainment is already packed for the audience but the next month of September will mark the ultimate filmy month of the year. September will have 5 Fridays this year, and as per the recent announcements, 9 films are ready for release in September 2022. The coming month is definitely going to be super entertaining and packed with new film releases.

The first September release is the much talked about film Yaar Mera Titliyan Warga. The movie stars Gippy Grewal and Tanu Grewal in the main lead. The film is slated to release on September 2, and will be an out and out comedy drama movie. The trailer and the songs of the film are already out and are doing rounds on the internet. The team is currently promoting this upcoming comedy film.

After a happy start to the month with a light hearted comedy film, there will be two film releases on September 9. The first film that will release is Hardeep Grewal and Hashneen Chauhan starrer movie- Batch 2013. This film will face competition from the second film that will release on the same day.

The title of the second movie that is slated to release on September 9 is Teri Meri Gall Ban Gayi, and the movie will star Rubina Bajwa and popular Punjabi singer Akhil in the lead roles. This film was shot in 2019, but it’s release got delayed due to the Covid crisis. The film will mark Rubina Bajwa’s comeback on the big screen after 3 years and will also be Akhil’s debut acting project.

The next weekend will be extremely packed with 3 simultaneous releases that will clash at the box office on 16 September 2022. The two main films that are geared up for this big clash are Tarsem Jassar, Neeru Bajwa and Roopi Gill starrer Maa Da Laadla; and the Jagdeep Sidhu directorial project starring Sargun Mehta and Gitaz Bindrakhia titled Moh. The third release for the same day will be Nishawn Bhullar and Rabbi Kandola’s action film titled Masand.

The next Friday which will fall on 23 September 2022, will also mark a clash at the box office with two movie releases. The first film to release on the fourth Friday of the month is the sequel of Parahuna, titled Parahuna 2. The sequel will star Ranjit Bawa and Aditi Sharma in the lead. The second film that will create competition with its release on the same day is the much speculated action thriller film titled Criminal which stars Neeru Bajwa, Prince Kanwaljit Singh and Dheeraj Kumar in pivotal roles.

The last Friday of the month, which will fall on 30 September 2022 will mark only one film release. This film is none other than the much talked about and the much awaited film of the year- Babe Bhangra Paunde Ne, which stars the superstar of the Punjabi entertainment industry- Diljit Dosanjh. The female lead opposite Dosanjh will be played by Sargun Mehta in this big upcoming project. The movie will definitely be the show stopper of the month and will give a grand closing to the filmy month of September.

Henceforth, it is evident that the month of September 2022 is going to be super special, interesting and entertaining with back to back big releases. The fans are very excited about all the 9 films that are going to rock on the silver screens in this coming September.
