The Punjabi Cinema Show Episode 12: Action films in Punjabi cinema - Why are they made less?

The Punjabi Cinema Show Episode 12: The 12th episode of The Punjabi Cinema Show talks about a genre which has decresed over the years.

Titled 'Action films in Punjabi cinema: Why are they made less?', the 12th episode of 'The Punjabi Cinema Show' released last evening across all leading audio platforms.

Any regular follower of Punjabi movies would be knowing that the action genre was dominant in the Punjabi film industry for almost a couple of decades in the 80s and 90s. Having said that, something happened to result in a gradual decline in the number of action Punjabi movies.

In this episode, host Yasmin Kaur is joined by core team members Sameer Valecha, Rehaan Singh and Dixit Bhargav (friend of the podcast) as the four of them discuss a lot of things about this genre in the Punjabi industry.

In what is an unmissable element with respect to this discussion, core members also bring to light how the genre revived in Punjab. As a result, several producers, directors and actors emerged in the last half-a-decade or so for audiences to witness some genuinely watchable Punjabi action movies.

In a brief but informative segment, Valecha, co-founder of Punjabi Mania, also throws light on what goes behind making an action movie and the all-important role of action directors in movies.

Addressing the elephant in the room, core members also take part in a debate around whether action movies have a negative impact on the youth or not.

To hear that and a lot more around action Punjabi movies, you can listen to the full episode on many leading audio streaming platforms such as Spotify, Amazon Music, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Gaana, Anchor and Deezer.
