Dev Kharoud’s earlier films offer three very different kinds of struggle: an honest officer facing a corrupt system, a smuggler forced to confront the power he accumulated, and a kabaddi player rebuilding a life disrupted by addiction. That range makes his filmography easier to explore by conflict than by ranking.

With Mitti De Putt now in cinemas and Kharoud listed among its principal cast, newcomers have a timely reason to look back. Pick the battle that interests you most: institutions, criminal power or personal recovery.

For authority under pressure: DSP Dev

DSP Dev gives Kharoud the title role of DSP Dev Shergill. The 2019 film places an honest police officer in Daulatpura, where a powerful criminal has helped corruption take root across the local system.

The appeal of that premise lies in Dev’s position inside the institution he is trying to defend. He has authority, but the badge does not automatically give him control over the forces surrounding him. His task is to confront the compromised structure and restore peace to the town.

Choose this film if your preferred Kharoud character is a public figure tested by the machinery around him. The central tension comes from trying to exercise lawful power where corruption has already shaped the rules.

For power followed by reckoning: Blackia

Blackia, also released in 2019, casts Kharoud as Gama. He enters gold smuggling to honour his late mother’s wishes and rises through the criminal world, but that ascent changes direction when he learns how larger forces have used him.

Guilt and a search for redemption then pull him against the people who helped build his power. That reversal distinguishes Blackia from a straightforward rise-through-the-ranks crime story: reaching the top does not end Gama’s conflict; it creates the conditions for his reckoning.

This is the choice for viewers interested in ambition, complicity and a character turning against the system that enabled him. The broad premise supplies the moral pivot without requiring a detailed account of how the conflict resolves.

For a life rebuilt: Dakuaan Da Munda

In Dakuaan Da Munda (2018), Kharoud plays Mintu, a promising kabaddi player whose addiction wrecks the future opening before him. The story then follows his effort to fight that addiction and begin again.

The struggle here is personal rather than institutional. Mintu is not trying to reform a town or reverse a climb through organised crime; he is dealing with the consequences of addiction and attempting to recover direction in his own life.

Choose it when you want a recovery story built around damage, effort and renewal. The premise gives Kharoud a different emotional terrain from the official authority of DSP Dev Shergill or Gama’s relationship with criminal power.

Pick the conflict, not a winner

These films do not need to be forced into a “best performance” order. Start with DSP Dev for an officer versus corruption, Blackia for criminal ascent and redemption, or Dakuaan Da Munda for a life interrupted and rebuilt.

The common thread is Kharoud; the character journey changes each time. After Mitti De Putt, these three roles offer distinct routes into his earlier work without pretending that one mood should fit every viewer.
