Kota/Mumbai: The investigation into the firing incident involving Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff has taken a significant turn, with three suspects arrested at Kota railway station in Rajasthan while allegedly attempting to leave Maharashtra.
The arrests were carried out by Rajasthan Police in coordination with the Anti-Gangster Task Force (ATF). The suspects, aged 17, 18 and 22, were reportedly travelling from Mumbai towards Delhi when police intercepted them on a train.
Investigators are examining CCTV footage and other leads to reconstruct the movements of the accused after the shooting in Mumbai’s Juhu area. According to the information provided by the ATF, the three had boarded the train at Vasai.
Suspects from Haryana and Bihar
The arrested individuals have been identified as P.S., a 17-year-old from Haryana; Hrithik Kumar, also known as Roshan, 22, who originally hails from Bihar and was reportedly living in Andheri West, Mumbai; and Rehan, 18, from Haryana’s Sonipat district.
Kumar was reportedly working as a Rapido rider. Police are expected to investigate the alleged role of each suspect and determine whether others were involved in the incident.
Actor unharmed in shooting
The case stems from a firing incident reported on Sunday evening in Juhu, where gunshots were allegedly directed at a car associated with Shroff. The actor escaped unharmed, while his driver and another person were reported to have suffered injuries.
Mumbai Police registered a case against three unidentified people before transferring the investigation to the Crime Branch, according to reports attributed to PTI.
A social media post claiming responsibility in the name of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang also surfaced online. However, police had not verified the post’s authenticity, and the claim should not be treated as established fact.
Fadnavis says police will pursue all leads
Before the arrests were reported, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said investigators had made progress in identifying those behind the attack. He indicated that police would coordinate with authorities in other states and central agencies to track down anyone suspected of involvement.
Fadnavis said he had also spoken with Shroff and assured him that the government was treating the incident seriously and would address security concerns.
The Chief Minister defended Mumbai Police against Opposition criticism over law and order, arguing that the force remained professional and enjoyed public confidence. He also referred to earlier high-profile cases while challenging the Opposition’s record on public safety.
Investigation continues
The arrests have shifted the focus of the probe towards establishing the motive, identifying any alleged organisers and determining whether the suspects had assistance before or after the shooting.
Police will need to substantiate the allegations through evidence and legal proceedings. The investigation remains ongoing, and the precise roles of the arrested individuals have yet to be established in court.
