Yaar Mera Titliaan Warga: The upcoming Punjabi release will release worldwide on September 2.
The recent dire situation of the Punjabi film industry is such that each movie is welcomed with a hope of it ending a rut and resulting in a box-office success. Despite good movies being made in Punjab in the last three months, something has stopped audiences from visiting the cinema halls to watch those movies.
In such circumstances, superstar Gippy Grewal-starer upcoming movie titled 'Yaar Mera Titliaan Warga' will release worldwide on September 2 amid roaring expectations.
Grewal, who has also produced the movie alongside wife Ravneet Kaur Grewal and Ashu Munish Sahni, confessed to have not found an instant solution for the commercial success of a movie but believes only "good content" will bring people back to the cinema halls.
"First of all, everyone works hard to make a film. If a film doesn't work, it doesn't mean that the team hasn't put in the hard work. Some 200-300 people work together to make a good film. To answer your question, it is difficult to pick out specific reasons as to what the audiences want," Grewal told Punjabi Mania.
"Quite possible that people's mentality has changed post COVID-19. Watching a lot of content across OTT platforms could have also played some part. At the end of the day, people want to watch good content and that is what we should all be striving to make."
Gippy Grewal admits trailer of Yaar Mera Titliaan Warga had scope for improvement
The trailer of Yaar Mera Titliaan Warga had released on the official YouTube channel of Gem Tunes Punjabi a couple of weeks ago. At the time of writing this story, the trailer has received in excess of 26 million views on the same platform.
While the 198-second trailer is being applauded by one and all, Grewal believes that the same could have been much better than what it is right now. Not that Grewal hasn't liked the trailer, his idea of it was something else. That being said, Grewal curbed his instincts in his attempt to be a team player.
"I believe the trailer could have been even better. Since I have watched the movie multiple times, [I can say that] there was a scope for improvement in the trailer. But [director] Vikas [Vashisht] wanted to keep cards close to his chest. Our editor [Rohit Dhiman] also suggested the same. Hence, I decided to go ahead with the team," Grewal added.
Actor Tanu Grewal will be playing a lead role for the first time in Yaar Mera Titliaan Warga. Having worked with Grewal in 'Shava Ni Girdhari Lal' (2021) and a music video, Tanu Grewal considers that the movie has presented her with an opportunity of showcasing her acting ability.
"The female lead's character is parallel to the male lead's character [in Yaar Mera Titliaan Warga]. I wanted to play such a character. It's different. It was challenging but I had an opportunity to showcase my acting ability," Tanu told Punjabi Mania.
