Indian cricket icon Virat Kohli has heaped praise on the blockbuster film Dhurandhar 2, calling it an unmatched cinematic experience and applauding both its director and lead actor.
Taking to social media, Kohli described the film as emotionally gripping and immersive, stating that he remained completely engaged throughout its lengthy runtime. He lauded director Aditya Dhar for his vision and execution, while singling out Ranveer Singh for delivering what he termed a “next-level” performance.
The film’s critical and audience reception has been mirrored in its box office success. Backed by Jio Studios, the movie has emerged as one of the highest-grossing Indian releases, amassing a staggering ?1,622 crore worldwide within just over two weeks of its release.
Of this total, international markets have contributed ?394 crore, while domestic collections have surged to ?1,228 crore (gross), with net earnings in India crossing ?1,041 crore. Even on its 18th day in theatres, the film maintained strong momentum, earning ?28.75 crore across more than 14,000 shows nationwide.
Released on March 19, the film opened to a powerful start, consistently recording high daily collections through its first week and sustaining impressive numbers into subsequent weekends. Despite a typical weekday dip, the film quickly regained traction, driven by strong word-of-mouth and widespread audience interest.
With both critical acclaim and record-breaking revenue, Dhurandhar 2 continues to dominate the box office, cementing its place as a major milestone in Indian cinema.
