One of the two movies releasing on this Friday is Sunil Thakur ‘Marriage Palace’. Apart from marking Thakur’s directorial debut, the movie will also mark the comeback of singer-turned-actor Sharry Mann on the celluloid after four years, which has it in it become a reason for his fans to visit the cinema halls as early as tomorrow morning.

Apart from Mann, the film stars Payal Rajput, Jaswinder Bhalla, BN Sharma, Harby Sangha, Sumit Gulati Nisha Bano, Anita Devgan, Nirmal Rishi and others.

The movie might not be an archetype period movie, but it appears to be a story of the late 90s or early 2000s. It was this period when the trend of marriage palaces was spreading in Punjab. The custom of organizing a couple of marriage in the same palace is expected to play a major role in the movie for the swapping of brides is seen as leading to convolusion in the promos. Whether director Thakur and writer Rakesh Dhawan will justify this convolution will only be known post watching the movie in cinema halls tomorrow.

Marriage Palace has been produced by Happy Goyal, Harsh Goyal and Sazal Goyal under the banner of Happy Goyal Pictures. Among the Hindi movies which are releasing on Friday are Neeraj Pathak’s ‘Bhaiaji Superhit’ and Tariq Khan’s ‘The Dark Side of Life: Mumbai City’. With no major Hindi movie releasing, Marriage Palace is expected to receive stiff competition from Rakesh Mehta’s Rang Panjab’ at the box-office.

The trailer of the movie was released more than three weeks ago on the official YouTube channel of Lokdhun Punjabi. At the time of writing this article, it has received in vicinity of five million views on the same platform.
