When Ammy Virk paid off parents’ debt of over Rs 40 lakh post-success

Punjabi actor Ammy Virk, who has been leaving an impeccable mark in the film industry, recently featured in the new Hindi film 'Khel Khel Mein'. The actor has been busy promoting the film in which he can be seen alongside Akshay Kumar and Taapsee Pannu among others. 

Just recently, he opened up about the struggles he faced while growing up in a middle-class family. Ammy Virk said that his father sponsored his education and was forced to sell their car in order to invest in Ammy’s first music album. 

Likewise, the Punjabi singer and actor said that he felt proud of his modest roots and shared that now he has a shower worth Rs 6 lakh in his house in the village.

In an interview with Siddharth Kannan on his YouTube channel, Ammy Virk said that he would often hear about loans in his house when he was growing up. 

“My entire childhood, we would only hear about loans of Rs 25 lakh, Rs 30 lakh, interest rates, saving for sister’s wedding. That’s what happens in middle-class families. Me and my brother were sent for expensive higher studies. Like a semester’s fee would be Rs 60,000-70,000. It’s not that we were poor or anything, we were blessed. My father educated us well, took care of us. Even my first album, my father put in money for that,” he said.

Ammy Virk further said that after becoming successful in Punjab, he paid of his parents’ loans of Rs 30-40 lakh and even made a house for them in their village.
